Makerspace

I am in a Makerspace group that takes place twice a week. We do lots of activities that involve Science, Teachnology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. We have had two themes so far. One was on Butterflies and the other one was Autumn.

ASB Getwise

On Wednesday we had Marlon from ASB Get wise talking to us about saving our money, spending money on needs not wants and using invisible money ie eftpos. I have made a google draw to show what I have learnt. I liked learning about how the credit card works. The credit card uses the banks money and then you have to pay it back.

Mothers Day

This week in Writing we wrote about how special our mums are. Here is my published writing about my wonderful mum. Happy Mother’s Day!

Handwriting Sample Term 1

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.I am good at setting my work out correctly .I need to get better at making my work neat and tidy.

Self Portrait Art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.

This is my progress I have made this year in maths, basic facts, reading, writing and spelling.  I think I have made good progress in spelling because I am in a high level.
